PKPIM is deeply concerned about the potential deportation of 43 Uyghur detainees from Thailand to China.
Reports have emerged that these individuals, long held under restrictive conditions, were recently coerced into signing documents that could lead to their deportation back to China, where they face severe risks of human rights abuses, similar to the fates of those repatriated in 2015.
Given the gravity of their situation, PKPIM urges the Thailand government to reconsider this decision and calls upon the international community, including the global human rights organizations, to intervene and ensure that the rights and safety of these detainees are upheld. As a nation that cherishes peace and humanitarian values, it is a duty to stand against such violations and advocate for the protection of all individuals, regardless of their nationality or creed.
PKPIM urges the Thai government to ensure the well-being of these detainees by halting any plans for their deportation.
We appeal to Thailand to collaborate with international bodies such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to find humane solutions that might include resettlement in third countries where these individuals can safely reunite with their families and communities.
We also call on the United Nations and its relevant agencies to actively engage in this matter to prevent the deportation and to facilitate a safe haven for the detainees in a country that respects their rights and
freedoms.
We call on the global community to join in solidarity to safeguard thehuman rights of the Uyghur detainees and to prevent a humanitarian crisis that could ensue should these deportations proceed.
In solidarity with the Uyghur community, PKPIM will continue to monitor the situation closely and advocate for justice and human rights. We stand ready to support any international efforts aimed at resolving this crisis in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of all individuals involved.
